Telecommute to Save Gas
Implement a telecommuting protocol to cut down car emissions.
If you can, take a bus or train to your destination. You’ll be doing the right thing, and more than likely be on time, too.
50-80% of tires are under inflated and waste up to 5% of a car’s fuel. Properly inflated tires could save up to 2 billion gallons of fuel a year!
Provide parking incentives for carpoolers such as closer and/or shaded parking spots.
According to AAA, the cost for owning and operating an average size car is 54 cents per mile, when driven 15,000 miles per year. Walk or carpool when you can.
Drive smoother! Think ahead and avoid sharp braking and rapid acceleration. It saves fuel and dollars.
Driving 10% less by walking, cycling, carpooling or taking public transit can reduce greenhouse gas emmissions by 0.2-0.8 tonnes per year, depending on the vehicle.
Use old rags and a bucket of water instead of a hose to wash your car with much less water waste.
